May 31, 2020 at 5:05 pm in reply to: Bryan’s 100 Day Challenge: Figure Drawing in Oil Pastels #561635hey bryan, you’re putting in quite alot of work yourself into this challenge man π i aslo see you’re definitely starting to figure out skin tones man, they’re starting to look real nice π i love this challenge its so good to see everyone improving, goes to show all you gotta do is be consistent
Hi ramona, thanks for the comment on my thread π your gestures are looking quite good…uve already improved big time since you started your challenge….its also good to see you practising perspective…i also do that from time to time…You were saying you watched glenns videos on gesture but were a bit overwhelmed by them…my tip would be to watch them over and over i think ive watched the gesture ones about 10 times by now xD and of course try to do as many drawing as possible, it also helps to draw the same pose over and over, sometimes i also just dont use a timer to take the pressure off a bit but i still just try to focus on the movement and basic forms and strictly no details…it is hard to grasp and switch your brain to thinking of the movement rather than the contours, i also still struggle with that but definitely not as much as a few months ago….draw along with the videos and just keep trying :). i do gestures now every morning as a warm up, i use the daily drawing sessions here on nma
Bryan thank you for the encouragement π
Paul thanks very much π the gestures i still struggle with especially very fast ones i need about 2 mins at least to get a good one down….but vilppus approach has definitely opened my eyes to not be looking at contours constantly
Ramona thank you very much π
I think these look great Chi theres a nice movement and flow to them π …ive just started properly getting into gestures and figure drawing and i hate every sketch i do atm (its really hard) xDΒ but like paul said just keep going π i also like to joke about my own bad drawings and then slide them under the bed and pull them out weeks later for another laugh π dont be too hard on yourself just try have fun with it.
awesome gestures jenny π ive gotta do more form drawing also xD
