October 12, 2020 at 12:02 pm in reply to: Russian Drawing Course Part 9: Deep Muscles of the Face #814645Hi Rasha, yes he uses pencils with varying hardness’s. Harder pencils for lighter values and softer pencils for darker values. You can get a similar result with just a soft graphite pencil, but you have to develop a lot of control.
I hope this helps 🙂October 12, 2020 at 11:46 am in reply to: Russian Drawing Course Part 25: Cast of the Proto-Renaissance Bust #814506October 12, 2020 at 11:37 am in reply to: A Beginner’s Guide to Drawing | Lesson 4: Applying the Basics #814424Hi Nir, I think I understand your question, but to be clear, can you send the chapter and time code you are referring to?
Thank you for the feed back David. Do you think it be better to have progress pictures that you could reference, or to simply keep the camera on the drawing when the instructor steps back?
It looks like those pictures were from his Figure Drawing Book. https://store.nma.art/product/figure-drawing-signed-edition-by-steve-huston/
But you could also look at Steve’s intro to painting course where he goes into more detail about the eyes. Also Glenn’s head lectures go into more detail on the eyes as wellI hope this helps

https://store.nma.art/product/masterbox/Hi Abhinaba, Steve goes into more detail on the eye in lesson 20 part 3 the effects of aging, but its worth watching all of his videos here to pick up all the information
Good eye Julian!
I went ahead and added the correct reference to the references tab. Thank you for pointing this outHello Yael, the From Paper to Canvas Course will be released very soon! September 2, 2020 at 11:09 am in reply to: Andres’s 100 Day Challenge: Sight-size drawing Bargue plates #700145These are Great Andres!
the only feed back I can give is in the roundness of the top of the head
It looks like the headband is slightly flatter than the plate. you might be able to accentuate the lower edges to show it wrapping a little more. it might simply be because the headband on my right is softer than the plate. so I dont feel that pull of the band wrapping around the head, as Glenn might sayKeep going!
