You will learn how to work with light and shadow areas, how to render the roundness of the eyeball and how to construct the bony orbital area around the eye for beautiful and convincing eyes in your paintings.

    Wonderful as always with Steve Huston’s precise and revealing analysis.  I can’t help noticing how his image was very unlike the Sargent he showed at the beginning.  Was the source actually different from the one shown, or does he simply depart from the original in order to show the structures he is imagining?  For example the ‘crease’ on the eyelid which he paints (which is really evocative) doesn’t appear to be there in the original painting; the eyelid is a different shape; and so on…
