These are great Jerry! keep up the great work B)
If youre not on Discord already, Im sure our community would love to see these
https://discord.gg/aMCr8XykykHi Rachel, This might have to do with how you are holding the pencil. I recommend the traditional grip rather than the tripod grip in general, especially when drawing larger and from the shoulder, with the side of the pencil and if you are experiencing wrist pain. I also recommend having you paper perpendicular to your line of site to reduce perspective distortion and to reduce neck injuries.
I think its a good idea to get a larger 18×24 pad and a drawing horse, or you can just prop your clip board against your desk, or back of your chair, if you don’t have access to a drafting table or an easel.April 5, 2022 at 2:26 pm in reply to: Russian Drawing Course Part 33: The Portrait with Hands #2301959Hi Kailene, The exact dimensions of the back board used are 24″ x 30″ (male – Mark) and 36″ x2 4″ (female) . but we recommend 18×24 since this is more easily obtainable especially if you are not stretching your paper.
Hi, there are well over 50,000 images already edited with much more to go!
I’ll start releasing these some time next monthgreat work Jerry 🙂
Hi gmw13, Renaissance Head Drawing was recently reformatted, 12 hours is correct. So the course guide will be updated soon
Hi Valene, This course will be much easier and impactful if you use the full version of Photoshop on a desktop or laptop. With that said, you can use the software listed here as a supplement https://www.nma.art/pdf-viewer/?id=1279077
But this will require you to do your own research on how to achieve the same tasks. Youtube is a great source for tutorials. If you use the mobile version of photoshop, you may have to use other apps to fill in where photoshop cut their features in the mobile version.
So the answer depends on how much time you want to spend figuring out alternative methods. If you do choose that route, you will learn a ton about your software. Also, there may be a way to project your laptops screen on to your IPAD, so that you use your IPAD as a second monitor and tablet. you may experience some lag, but Ive heard of people doing this.
Hello M Jason
This is from our education coordinator
“yes there was miscommunication. I addressed it in the discord and changed the assignment to reflect what Rey said. Cody has sent out an email addressing this as well.”
The Pdf is updated, you just have to download it again. Good Luck!
It was Sasha that did all the work 🙂
I’m glad to hear itHi Jo, from what I’ve seen online, watercolor easels allow the canvas to rotate back 90 degrees and lay flat like a table top so that the watercolor does not drip.
I also know that some easels have a central telescoping piece of wood that allows you to hold very tall canvases, this might be whats hitting the ceiling.I want to invite you to the NMA discord server. You may have better luck finding answers in the #traditional-materials-and-tools channel.
The link to join discord is at the top of this page. Once there you can tag @nmamod for assistance if neededGood luck!

Hi Jac,
Our editors worked some magic and were able to remove the audio from the drapery course. I hope this is helpful!
Hi Jac, I just wanted to confirm that we have received your feedback and that we have taken it to heart. To my knowledge we are moving away from background music. And I can confirm that removing the music from the Russian Academic course is also in the pipeline. However this will take some time as our editors are very busy. We appreciate your feedback because it allows us to improve and make the learning experience better for everyone.
Thank youFebruary 16, 2022 at 12:50 pm in reply to: Build Your Own Ecorché | Part 7: Forming the Skull and Applying Lower Leg Muscles #2174805Hello Wayne, Thank you for pointing this out. I have forwarded the issue along to my team member that handles transcripts
