Beautiful colors! And I like the layered and textured approach. I find hot press less forgiving than the cold press paper, but as you said, the way the paint stains is unique and can be well exploited.

The acrylic treatment method is pretty smart. I may give it a try. Sometimes it helps to leave the underpainting dry thoroughly – overnight, bone dry, and come back with lots of pigment and little water.
This is so lovely! Makes me want to try digital drawings someday.

You are right about water control. My art journey started with watercolor, so I have more mileage with that medium than others. However, whenever I spent some time drawing or painting with other material (acrylic etc.), I have trouble going back to watercolor – making the water works. 🙂
