    Thank you NMA.

Dear Joshua, is there anything from Karl Gnass coming soon? And what’s it about?

The second image has indeed improved. Good Job.
    My views (No expert opinion):

    Major: High Value(Light)

    Minor: High Contrast

-> The slanting road on the right and the bright road on the left (both at the bottom) are not helping in leading the eye into the painting. Focal point (shadows on the larger building) is nicely done but the tree trunk darks and the shadow darks are almost same. I think that can be the matrix problem you were pointing to. No clear distinction in value scales

Overall great job and thank you for posting so persistently.

    Very Nice Gordon.
My Guess: Major Key–> High, Minor Key –> High

Great Stuff and good luck Gordon. Also thank you for sharing and motivating.

Dear Gordon, I am also attending composition classes by Bill Perkins. I have a question which has been pinching me for few weeks now:

Minor keys are about contrast. I wanted to know that should the contrasting values (lightest light and darkest dark) lie side by side or they can be anywhere in the picture and they can set the Minor key.

For example, the face has lightest light (white) surrounded by medium values (Grays) until the coat which is darkest dark (black). The two values are physically far apart with medium values in between. Will the Minor Key be High or Medium?

@Joushua Jacobo, if you can also add, I will be grateful. Thank you.

I am using a small note book to mark the lessons I have covered. It keeps me on track and few clicks can take me where I was last time. Hope it helps until the issue is resolved.

    Hi

Thanks NMA for everything you guys are doing.

A suggestion. Few podcasts in which instructors talk about their journey through arts and answer common art questions. My wishlist Karl Gnass, Glenn Vilppu, Joshua Jacobo etc. Legend Steve has already many of such sessions but another one would also be a fresh breeze.

I would also second Dan Castelli

It does not require to be called “Comic” as some people might have reservations (I do not). Visual Story telling or Graphic Novel creation can be great lessons. Also, if NMA can work with Karl Gnass for Story Board lectures, that would also be really helpful.
