Hi Myriam. Love the last one, good job! Your drawings all have good structure and placement, keep up the good work!
Paula, these are so good! Are you drawing them from memory too?
Keep up the good work!Hi Deborah. Day 50 is looking awesome! Feels like a scientific illustration, very accurate!

Great sketches Alex! Really dig the structure of the left one. Keep up the good work!
@Ian Thank you! The pen is a Micron 0.3mm
@Chris Thank you so much Chris! You’re such a huge inspiration and definitely one of the artists I look up to. I watched your lessons here on NMA several times and a few years ago your free tutorials on YouTube. The planes and shadows is something that I take from your own way of drawing, so your words mean a lot to me!

Great stuff, keep up the good work!
Hi Luis! Loved the softness with the hatching! Great work!
Hi Gordan! Wow, that revised sketch with the trees, architecture and the water is a wonder to look at! Awesome work there!
Composition is something that I struggle with a lot, so I will definitely keep an eye on your progress! Keep up the good work!
June 21, 2020 at 6:48 pm in reply to: Christopher’s 100 Day Challenge: Building A Solid Foundation #592607Hi Christopher! Loving the practice you’re putting out! These are great exercises which we all benefit from. Ellipses is something that I just can’t draw very well, can’t really place the axis correctly 😅 so I should really exercise that more. Keep at it!
Cheers!
Hi Christopher!
100 straight days of art is something you will be very proud of! I bet we will all be better artists in the end. As I’ve heard other people say: It’s a marathon, not a sprint!
Looking forward to your journey!
Good luck!
Oops, seems like my posts were saved after all. 🙂
Hi @Christopher! Thank you for stopping by! I really enjoy playing with lost and soft edges – especially with graphite. Contrasting them with hard edges is very satisfying. I have to agree with you on the hair part, it’s something that I don’t usually have the patience to do with pen/pencil, mainly because it takes so much time. My current focus is on the structure of the head, shapes and value simplification. My strategy with this is so I can do it faster and more accurately so I can focus on learning/doing other things, such as hair, costumes and all that cool stuff. Primarily because I don’t have much time to practice. But taking your critique into account, in today’s sketch I tried to give the hair a little more love!
