Day 17:

tried doing my first ever master study today. i went with a self portrait by rembrant. angle of the head is all wrong and he looks younger in my drawing but i still had a blast drawing this.

Thank you :). amm ive done a couple of paintings, theyre on my instagram but nothing really to do with portraiture. but i will in the future for sure. just focusing on getting my drawing down at the moment, im still pretty new to all this haha

day 19:

Got some toned paper and some generals charcoal pencils in the post today. theyre alot better than the ones i was using before. first time using toned paper, its super fun.

I’m liking the dramatic lighting!

And I’m  using almost the same materials,  except a shammy and my finger for blending  🙌🏻

thanks man 🙂 i really like dramatic lighting aswell. yeah i saw so many people using toned paper i just had to try it. i use my finger here and there too. its just a bit too big for some areas xD

Day 20:

finished my self portrait today so now you all know what i look like xD. im really  happy with how it came out and im loving this toned paper, just so much fun. might do another one at day 40 maybe.

Youre self portrait is awesome. It shows a lot of improvement I think, much more confident shadow and light! I think one can also see it well as your profile picture, where one can’t get lost in the details. It has a nice flow. I maybe would wish for abit of a lightpoint or sparkle in the eyes still. Well Done!

 

@Nma: This Image is displaxed to me impossibly big, couldd there be maybe a solution to adjusting the pictures to the frame of the window?
