Notes :
This time I wait for the morning light to take the picture.
So this is from yesterday. These are assignments from the lesson “Grazing animals”. Then I drew a deer during 1hour 30. I’m glad with the result, it isn’t finish for the legs but I didn’t want to continue yesterday since it was late. I’m not going to finish neither that was just a test, seeing how after the lessons I could draw again a full animal. I realize I wasn’t so much dependent on the reference anymore. The movement is fluid, it’s way better. I feel like proportions are easier too now. However the one thing I have to work on is what complete the basic structure : bones, muscles. I still have a hard time with this but I will study it. Today I have the horse lesson to do ; horse have a “thin” skin and their muscles/bones are very seeing through so it’s a great way to study this. An exercise that I could do also for this is to take a picture and draw on it only to see if I can recognize the muscles, bones, and not mistake them (because I should be able to do it then in my head, without tracing and without the anatomy book).

I have trouble posting. I already post 2 comments one hour ago with the pictures but it didn’t seem to show. I don’t want to post too much because if they all appear in the same time, I wouldn’t flood my thread. I’m going to wait and if it’s still not working I will post on the “trouble posting” my problem.
Thank you Joshua! I see, I will now.
Thank you too Deborah! I’m glad they look expressive, I feel like it’s one of the hardest part when it comes to animals. Sure, that would be amazing, I’m looking forward to seeing your animals.

Hi Paul, this last work is awesome. Everything is proportionate and the folds of clothes also are well put ! Very nice 🙂
Hello Deborah, the drawing of head’s planes is really well done.
The proportions of your last portrait (the woman) also looks very good. This face is lovely ! I would only suggest to look at the planes of the ear from the “assignment” head planes drawing and try to make the ear of the woman more in 3D, more like a volume.
Oh thank you very much Paula ! 🙂
Hi Paul, thank you ! Sure it’s a challenge, but the course make it so simple to understand how their bodies are build. Now it’s just about practice, practice and practice (and also knowing better about their muscles/bones structure).
Yes I saw Paula’s thread, very inspiring ! 🙂
True I understand, I always finish my drawings in the evening hence the bad lighting but I’m gonna make sure to have better light now
Hello, I went through your thread ; your head portraits are so well done. Very inspiring.
Also this 3D creature looks good too ! These two arms and the enigmatic pose reminds me of Silent Hill’s universe, I love it 🙂
Thank you Yazmin, I posted about the 100 Day Art Challenge. I’m just waiting for the thread to be “validate” 🙂
I’ll be glad to see yours too !
Wow, the cocker painting is so adorable ! You totally captured his lovely face
That boxer is also well done 🙂
They seem so alive and dynamic! Amazing work, its very inspiring 🙂
