    Thanks Tanisha!

I took your comments to heart and did some more work. Still not quite there, but I feel I am getting closer!

let me know what you’re thinking!

    Hi Tanisha,

While your comments are insightful (and your knowledge of anatomy impressive!) I should have said that I was focused on the torso, as that is the area I am studying anatomically right now. The head is still in the block-in stage. I’m sure these (albiet a  bit harsh) comments will help as I continue to work on it.

    Thanks so much!

    Mengu,

thanks so much for this! Sorry it took me so long to respond, I am a pastor by day and this COVID crisis has hit us hard where I live. I agree that I elongated the bottom of the model, and I think this is because I was drawing at an angled table. I started to look at all my drawings at a ninety degree angle and realizing they were stretched out, so now I draw on an easel straight up, which has helped. That being said, your comments are very helpful to me.

I’ll be sure to upload some recent sketches soon, right now I am working on an anatomy sketchbook to get a better understanding of what I am seeing.

    Thanks again,

    Casey

I am a brand new nma member, but have been practicing figure drawing for a while now. These are all charcoal on toned paper. I’ve never shown them to anyone!

Thanks so much! I love this community!

Hello! I am a brand new NMA member, but have been drawing in charcoal for a while. Here are some of my long studies (around 3 hours). I never show these to anyone!
