In week one, Steve Huston will start by identifying the basic shapes and 3D forms that make up the structure of the hand and convey gesture with the long axis curve. You will examine the connections and relationships between the parts of the hand, including the forearm, wrist, thumb, fingers, knuckles and tendons. Steve will then demonstrate a longer, toned drawing, describing light and shadow on the hand. Finally, you will apply this knowledge with timed pose drawings.
Throughout this course, you’ll have access to the NMA community for feedback and critiques to improve your work as you progress.
