In week nine, instructor Steve Huston will introduce you to the Rub Out technique; it is popular among the Brown School artists. The process begins by adding tones to the canvas and then wiping them out to create halftones and highlights. Then, you will watch Steve apply the technique in a study of a painting by Frank Duveneck.
Throughout this course, you’ll have access to the NMA community for feedback and critiques to improve your work as you progress.
