In week two, you’ll focus on organizing landscape sketches into visual planes using the foreground, middle ground, and background. Visual planes create depth and movement in a sketch and avoid a flat composition. With watercolor and a carpenter’s pencil, Glenn will show you how textures, tones, and shapes guide the viewer’s eye from one area to the next, creating dynamic sketches rather than simply copying the scene in front of you.
Throughout this course, you’ll have access to the NMA community for feedback and critiques to improve your work as you progress.
