I love the angles and dynamic poses you’re drawing. I tried doing a page of hands for my challenge—-they’re tough. You seem to have a good sense of the anatomy.
Decided I don’t have to finish a new drawing or sculpture each day, so may be going back to fix proportions or try to get values right. I’ve always been timid with values, and end up with pieces lacking drama or clear focus, which is why I think sculpting appeals to me, because I don’t have to worry about color or values. I’m starting to do the anatomy videos which I can tell will be very helpful.
Did not have time to do both a self portrait and a good dancer drawing. But I took 7 years of ballet—-stopped when we moved to pointe. My feet are flat, I wasn’t limber, not sufficiently strong. I was graceful, but that was my only virtue as a dancer. I did a lot of community theatre as a teen where my dancing skills were sufficient for the chorus. I learned a bit of belly dancing for “Kismet”, and wasn’t too bad. So I count my portrait as a drawing of a (mediocre) dancer. 😊
