Great Course

Love the systematic/methodical approach – certainly learned a huge amount.

Currently on portraiture course – but will get back to Russian Drawing course

I am looking fwd to large scale figure drawings.

From above looks like people are producing some quality work

I painted this from the ref photo. I am a beginner in oil painting and

hence have very little experience of portraiture from life. I suspect using a

model is much more difficult. Just have to get the wife (or my son) to sit still for

a few hours – don’t think that will happen soon. If I could get hold of decent

quality plaster cast at reasonable cost (as used for cast drawing) that would be a great help.

My attempt at greyscale excercise – probably did not use enough paint – to scared of loosing control!

Will have to force myself to load up brush

Retired at lockdown (retired aerospace stress engineer) so now have time to learn to paint – I hide in shed to avoid house job list.

Colour going to be a challenge.
