When I reactivated my NMA account a few days ago I noticed a few improvements to the interface and that the courses link was hidden at the bottom of the page. I’m not sure if it’s intentional but there seems to be a marked shift away from courses to video lessons, overall, which I’m not sure is in the right direction, because courses had a strong organizing structure that made it easy to keep track of your experience.
More specifically, it appears that Chris Legaspi’s Portrait Drawing for Beginners course does not exist any longer, but that the individual lessons that make up the course do. Is this by design? And does this mean that there will be video lessons not part of a course? It’s unclear if that’s the case, and I wouldn’t want to miss out on any content.
Keep up the great material guys!
January 13, 2021 at 9:48 am #1097898Hi Kristian, it looks like you can still access all courses by going here
https://www.nma.art/courses/#page-1
Otherwise you have to navigate by topic, instructor, etc.
The portrait drawing course may have been updated or incorporated into another course
I did find these though,
https://www.nma.art/courses/rendering-techniques-with-chris-legaspi/
https://www.nma.art/courses/head-drawing-for-entertainment-arts/
I’m going to forward this to the rest of the team to get a better understanding of this situation and then get back to you 😀

January 13, 2021 at 11:30 am #1098059Hello again Kristian, I received confirmation that none of the lessons have been removed, but that we are restructuring courses and renaming them. This is because we are developing a track system that will allow you navigate the courses through a curriculum of your choice. The link to the courses page was removed when we updated the learn page to improve user experience. The learn page has all the courses at the top and the lessons below as you navigate through the parameters of your choice. This will all be updated again when we launch our new website in a few months. We have a lot of exciting things planed with the focus geared towards usability, and efficient and effective education. 😀
January 13, 2021 at 11:36 am #1098065Now that sounds amazing. The track system is something I sorely need! While on the subject of planned changes, I remember there used to be a post on upcoming courses a year and a half ago. Is it something that can be shared at this time, maybe? :nervous-smile:
That was my last demand, I promise.

Yep, I had joined the channel earlier this morning, in fact. It makes a perfect companion to the main site 🙂
