Renaissance Head Drawing (Live Class)

Join Michael Siegel in this 8-week interactive walkthrough of NMA instructor Glenn Vilppu's course Dynamic Gesture Drawing. This live class allows you to work through core course content from the upcoming Learning Tracks as an Interactive Live Class. In this course, master draftsman Glenn Vilppu will teach you his unique approach to drawing the head, rooted in the traditions of the Old Masters. You will learn how to illustrate the portrait with three-dimensionality. You will master the construction, planes, and anatomy of the head. In sharing his technique, Glenn will help you achieve the ability to create effortless yet convincing drawings.

In this Live Class, Joshua will host an overview of  Glenn Vilppu’s 8-week course, Renaissance Head Drawing. You will watch the lesson chapters for each week, complete the assignments and submit them. Each week Joshua will go through and give live critiques of the submitted assignments and discuss the important principles covered in that week.

How do I earn a Certificate of Completion for this class?

Earn a digital Certificate of Completion when you complete this Live Class and submit all assignments for review before the end of term. Additionally, students who fulfill the certificate requirements will receive a special badge for display in the NMA community forums and Discord server.

How do I participate in these Live Classes?

You can participate by accessing the live lesson page on Wednesdays at 1:00 pm PT. This event is for NMA subscribers, you can sign up for important email updates here. You will be updated when the stream goes live, with assignment reminders, and any schedule changes.

How can I submit my work for critique?

If you want to submit your drawing for critique, follow the submission guidelines PDF located in the assignment tab of each lesson.
