Based on the Master Monday Archive 7 WithJoshua Jacobo, I will spend at least 15 minutes a day working on features from Odoardo Fialetti book https://archive.org/details/lepartidelcorpo00fial/page/n7/mode/2up?view=theater. I will start with the eyes and hopefully, and work through the nose, mouth and ears. I find the portraits in the book very strange, but I may try one as well at the end.
I am new to using a dip pen and find it challenging but am going to do at least one drawing a day with a dip pen. If anyone has nib preferences they would like to share, appreciated.
Well done for taking on that challenge. I had a go with this after the Master Monday session and found it quite tough. There’s plenty in that book to challenge any artist I think!
Nice to meet you too. Personally I think your results with the dip pen are better – the lines have a better quality. The Pilot pen looks modern and sketchier. I know dip pens can be tricky to work with though!
I appreciate the feedback, David. With encouragement dip pen drawing of the day. I am actually trying to do the reverse of this eye but am finding that I can definitely do curves better in one direction than the other.
Thanks David! I am going to look you up in this forum, let me know if you are working on anything and I will return the favour of feedback. Today is a busy day for me so the drawing is a quick one but I didn’t want to miss a day. Tried Burnt Siena ink which looks a little orange to me.
Thank you, Susan. I’m currently trying to finish the challenge myself. I’m sketching most days, but have had house moves to content with so it’s taken a long time. Another good eye today, well done.
Moving houses is terrible, my last move by the end I was randomly throwing stuff into boxes or the trash, whatever was closer. Don’t expect too much from yourself. Another very busy day for me, so a quick eye, but done!
