Posting from yesterday. Super busy day, did a quick sketch from memory while in the car.  At least I found a moment to do something.

Quick gesture drawing of eye, as much as possible I try to follow the same pattern of marks.  Eyebrows still the biggest issue.

Posting for yesterday, started to work on the Agostino Carracci eyes.

Only day missed so far.  Continuing on.

Starting working on applying Fialetti’s style to photos (bonus assignment).

Missed day 25, super busy with work.  Working with a Pitt pen to get a feel for the hatch pattern before moving back to the dip pen.

Day 25

Started working with the dip pen, interestingly easier to keep a steady line. Need to work on hatching around the eye.

That hatching is much more precise, well done 🙂  It’s interesting that the gestural studies with a softer medium are better suited to a softer subject like the eye, in comparison to ink.

Hello David, hope you are well.  Interestingly I have been finding these more precise studies very helpful for my gestural work (which is my main passion).  I have started to mix in some figure drawing work from the Figure Drawing Fridays, also with the dip pen.  I would like to be able to do more expressive eyes with the dip pen but so far no luck. I really enjoyed using it for the figure.
