In week one, instructor Sheldon Borenstein will walk you through the basics of sketching. They include setting yourself up on a drawing horse, drawing the fundamental shapes, and learning how to use cross-contours in your sketches. You will gain knowledge of compositional design and learn to utilize positive and negative space to help you compose your drawings. You will also study the laws of light and their effects on objects.

Throughout this course, you’ll have access to the NMA community for feedback and critiques to improve your work as you progress.
