In week one, instructor Bill Perkins will give you an overview of the visual components and primaries of design. You will look at the figure-ground relationship. Then, you will learn about the importance of dominance and subordination in the design of film stills. Bill will demonstrate in-class exercises and analyze film openings to help you better understand the application of these basic ideas.

Throughout this course, you’ll have access to the NMA community for feedback and critiques to improve your work as you progress.
