In week one, master illustrator Mark Westermoe will show you how to start a plaster cast drawing. You will learn to use the lay-in drawing to describe the forms of the face. Mark will introduce you to several sculptures to study and take inspiration from. Practicing on a plaster cast is a great way to improve your sense of value, light, and form.

Throughout this course, you’ll have access to the NMA community for feedback and critiques to improve your work as you progress.
