In this lesson, you will learn to develop a dragon character in the traditional Chinese illustration style. Instructor Daxiong Guo will lecture on the cultural importance of dragons and their distinctive characteristics. You will discover how to utilize color in your illustration before the inking process. Daxiong will demonstrate how to use a water brush to create unique effects.

This lesson belongs to Character Development for Comics and Illustration. In this 11-week course, illustrator Daxiong Guo will introduce you to his process of character development. You will learn how to conceptualize different stories and styles in illustration and comic art. Daxiong will demonstrate how to develop characters in a variety of styles, introducing you to the characteristics and lore of each. He will cover fantasy style, American comics, and traditional Asian illustration. Through this course, you will learn how to create your own characters in a range of styles to be prepared for any illustration project.
