In week one, instructor Renae Wang will guide you through the essential tools and materials needed for this course. You’ll learn how to sharpen a pencil for drawing and the optimal drawing position for holding the pencil. Renae will then cover the fundamental elements of primary shapes, gestures, and axis of a subject while demonstrating how to create a contour drawing of an organic still-life object.

Throughout this course, you’ll have access to the NMA community for feedback and critiques to improve your work as you progress.
