I love the idea of which side of the normative value to err on! This is such a helpful idea, I thought it deserves a name. Is there an official term for this? In growth study there is the “cephalocaudal gradient of growth”(the principle that structures closer to the head grow first). Maybe this gradient would then be the “cephalocaudal gradient of error.”
