Re what to do next I am not sure, What I do like is  the way you draw .

It would be easier to critique if I saw  source material ,

Gut feeling is ear and jaw line need tweaking

Anyway beautiful drawing what to do next ” more drawing please

    Happy Christmas

Hi Tim and Thanks for your kind comment. I have worked ( sorry in advance for my language as a French I don’t speak english very well) with General Pencil Kimberly And pastel dust on Canson Drawing Pad. And yes definitely will post more drawing.

    Merry Christmas Joyeux Noël

Here are some general questions for when  you don’t know what to do next:

Contrast – Do you have a full range of values? Do the shadow values clearly separate themselves from the light values or is there ambiguity?

Edge quality – Which edges do I want to emphasize in order to draw attention and which edges can be softened?

Mark-making – Do the marks create interest/express confidence or are they timid and tentative?

Background – Is the background an integral part of the composition?

Texture – Would a texture or a pattern create valuable interest?

Focal point – Why did I draw this? What interested me? Have I done what I could to communicate that to the viewer?

I agree with Tim that this is a beautiful drawing. I really love your technique and the poetic or ephemeral quality to the piece. I do understand the feeling of not knowing where to go next. I face that often. Other than for quick sketches, I find if I force myself to have a plan before I start – or at least be more deliberate in what I want to achieve – that I’m more satisfied with the result. Leo listed great questions to consider. I look forward to seeing more of your work!

Oh Thanks ! Need to put this on a board near me. And for this particular drawing, I think that the main problem is perhaps the contrast…

Thanks Jan ! I have to admit that I never know where I go when I draw. Will try to plan !
