    Hi there,

     

    This is a good drawing! Before I give critique, I would say that I’m not an expert, but an amateur so my critiques are mostly my reactions rather than being steeped in knowledge.

     

    I like that you used a lot of hatching and crosshatching. I think it looks good. I can also see you used straight lines mostly and that really helps with accuracy.

     

    1 thing  to think about:

    The mouth and lips stand out from the rest of drawing. I think this is because the lips have outlines. It might help to soften those outlines or even replace them with a more smooth transition.

    Again great job! Keep it up.

    Thanks Tim! really means a lot! i think you are totally correct i didn’t even pick up on that until you said it. very helpful critique, next time i approach a portrait i will definitely keep it in mind.
