Stuck on how to progress this without over emphasizing every detail in the face. Thanks for the help!

Hi Jilian. At first glance the tonal composition looks good so far. It has a high key, low contrast feel. If that’s what you’re after then it is working.

As for progressing, I would take one area to a finish. It’s missing a focal point. It doesn’t have to be the face. It can be the hand or even the cup.

If you after naturalism/realism, then I would address the scale and shape of the shoulder girdle. It feels small relative to the head.
