My first full value pencil portrait for critique

Hi all,

So…I’ve recently completed my first full value attempt at a portrait and would really appreciate the input from other artists here on it.

It’s a portrait based on a crop of the NMA’s Jade_nude-48.jpg.

It’s rather small, on A5 sketchbook. Completed in Steadtler Mars lumograph black, so basically pencil. I’ve also included a shot of the initial lay in.

I can tell there’s a problem with the head angle, I think and also the eyes are lacking…something?

Anyway, any feedback greatly appreciated.
