    In this lesson, instructor Daxiong Guo will share how to design and draw the villains in a fantasy storyline. You will learn how to utilize unique proportions to create orcs and monsters. Daxiong will lecture on the important features needed to make these characters feel like villains. You will go through the penciling and inking process to create your evildoers.

    This lesson belongs to Character Development for Comics and Illustration. In this 11-week course, illustrator Daxiong Guo will introduce you to his process of character development. You will learn how to conceptualize different stories and styles in illustration and comic art. Daxiong will demonstrate how to develop characters in a variety of styles, introducing you to the characteristics and lore of each. He will cover fantasy style, American comics, and traditional Asian illustration. Through this course, you will learn how to create your own characters in a range of styles to be prepared for any illustration project.

    Throughout this course, you’ll have access to the NMA community for feedback and critiques to improve your work as you progress.
