Developing Main Characters in a Fantasy Style

In this lesson, instructor Daxiong Guo will demonstrate creating adult characters for a fantasy world. You will learn how to use adult traits to design characters. Daxiong will utilize shape as a building block for the different fantasy character concepts. You will discover how to create the two main characters in your storyline.

This lesson belongs to Character Development for Comics and Illustration. In this 11-week course, illustrator Daxiong Guo will introduce you to his process of character development. You will learn how to conceptualize different stories and styles in illustration and comic art. Daxiong will demonstrate how to develop characters in a variety of styles, introducing you to the characteristics and lore of each. He will cover fantasy style, American comics, and traditional Asian illustration. Through this course, you will learn how to create your own characters in a range of styles to be prepared for any illustration project.
