    Hello guys,

This will be my sketchbook. I will try to post some course drawings here.

At the moment I am watching the course”An Introduction to Drawing for Beginners”

After that I am thinking if I should learn from the Russian Academic Drawing Approach or switch to portrait drawing.

    Courses:
An Introduction to Drawing for Beginners(At the moment)

    To-Do:
    Russian Academic Drawing Approach
Constructive Head Drawing, Head Drawing for Beginners, Renaissance Head Drawing or Advanced Head Drawing(Might choose one)
    Complete Sight-Size Drawing
    Contstructive Figure Drawing,
    The Spirit of the Pose

Also would be looking for some kind of art buddies(for motivation). My time zone is GMT+1 if it matters.

You’ve got the right idea here. Keep it up! Remember not to make your ellipses too much like circles unless they are going straight away from you.

Thanks Joshua. Been a while forgot that I had a sketchbook thread. Did some Ilya lessons and found out there are Sheldon lessons again. So I went back to the basics.

    Hi Andrew,

Just to add to what Joshua mentioned, I noticed that the ellipses on your cylinder are skewed in reverse order and are thus violating a key principle of foreshortening.

Please forgive my crude diagram, it’s a bit exaggerated for effect, but I hope it provides a basic idea of how to tackle this issue in future drawings…

    Good luck on your challenge!
