Amber’s Sketches Etc.

So I’ve been practicing figure drawing and watching Steve Houston’s figure drawing course and a bit of Glenn Villpu as well. I’m not sure I’m ready to commit to 100 day challenge quite yet, but want somewhere to stash my finished sketches and finished work as well, from time to time, to check my progress. I figured this would be the best place. It’s sort of my catchall for the time being, but any and all critique is welcomed and encouraged!

OK so went back and darkened up and sharpened the contour lines and some areas of the background as per some advice I received. Not sure if it made it better or worse but at least the lines don’t look so fuzzy.

Great start Amber.  I think the darkening did help clarify the figures.  Another approach might be to darken some areas of contour and leave others lighter or nonexistent, to let the viewer fill in the lines with their imagination.

Great advice, Jerry! I’ve seen that done before and will definitely need to give it a try. I think that would help De-cartoonify it a lot LOL!
