In this lesson, instructor Iliya Mirochnik will demonstrate how to add half-tones and highlights to your still life drawing. You will learn to use mark-making and blending to transition from your shadow mass to light mass. This step will lead you to a complete drawing. At the end of the lesson, Iliya will also show you how to stretch paper onto a panel. This technique can be used for future drawings of varying sizes.
This lesson belongs to the course Foundations of Observational Drawing. In this 8-week course, Iliya Mirochnik will share with you his knowledge of the Russian Drawing Approach; a technique that has remained nearly unaltered in Russia for over 250 years.
