In week one, instructor Amy Florence will walk you through the basics of cast painting. You will learn how to utilize a mirror and a plumb line to make accurate measurements and find placement for the main features of the cast. Amy will teach you how to build up oil paints from thin to thick; lean to fat. You will also watch her demonstrate blocking in the contours, background, shadows, and lights.

Throughout this course, you’ll have access to the NMA community for feedback and critiques to improve your work as you progress.
