In this lesson, instructor Daxiong Guo will teach you how to ink a comic book cover. He will show you how he refines his pencil lay-ins using ink. You will explore how different pens achieve different line characteristics, making your cover page more interesting. Daxiong will also demonstrate how to fill the empty space in his composition with props and effects.

This lesson belongs to Character Development for Comics and Illustration. In this 11-week course, illustrator Daxiong Guo will introduce you to his process of character development. You will learn how to conceptualize different stories and styles in illustration and comic art. Daxiong will demonstrate how to develop characters in a variety of styles, introducing you to the characteristics and lore of each. He will cover fantasy style, American comics, and traditional Asian illustration. Through this course, you will learn how to create your own characters in a range of styles to be prepared for any illustration project.
