In this lesson, NMA master draftsman Glenn Vilppu will lecture on direct lighting and the rendering techniques for capturing this scenario. You will study how the Old Masters used direct lighting to depict forms and establish a mood within their work. Glenn will do a series of demonstrations to show you how he represents direct lighting on the figure.
This lesson belongs to Dynamic Gesture Drawing. In this 9-week course with master draftsperson Glenn Vilppu, you will learn a drawing approach rooted in the Renaissance tradition yet applicable today in the world of fine art, animation, and illustration. Glenn will lecture on the concepts of gesture and rendering that will aid in the development of your figure drawings.
