In this video lesson, world-famous artist and instructor Glenn Vilppu demonstrates a simple, procedural approach to doing a drawing using a charcoal pencil. First, you will learn how to begin the drawing with a loose gesture. Then Glenn will demonstrate how to work into the gesture constructing the figure with simplified volumes. Finally you will learn how to apply rendering techniques and surrounding atmosphere to give the drawing a final look.
