Glad your enjoying your exquisite struggle with paint

Maybe that’s why I like fuzzy charcol I dont have to decide it’s like

Painting with fog . I am sticking mainly with steatdler Lumograph pencil at the moment a little charcol, kinda like dry painting the colour sometime comes in a wash of a couple of soft pastels , I scared myself using paint/ colour  and have discovered drawing has quiet charms and can be so close to painting .

The oxford vaccine should be out on 29th Dec it will be a gamechanger

I found the beginners drawing course very helpful , its not easy and is a great foundation for any art discipline including painting

I find it good to split study and any art that takes my fancy 50/50

The beginners drawing course is excellent and a great introduction to many ideas skills and   helpful with painting  , despite the word beginner it’s not easy ,but a great foundation . I like to do 50 % study and 50 personal artwork where I often loose myself and forget the ” learning ”

Art can be great for stress I like to draw landscapes outside and often listen to music I find it very theraputic to be an observer to step outside of the small me into the lush world of music and line /tone

And as you say art can be very theraputic your drawing of your dogs is lovely you have skills ! Not easy to draw animals I normally stick to landscape I live on the coast and still life

I got Steadtler Mars lumagraph pencils for Christmas they are lovely

Again a lovely drawing of a “real” person 99.9% of people will only see

A very gentle drawing of a complex woman , subjectively I feel your subtle use of tonal contrast and wonder handling of the hair communicates much to the viewer , great work Jan very expressive in my opinion this is art .
