In this lesson, you will learn the basics of gesture and structure; these two elements are the fundamentals of figure drawing. Instructor Steve Huston will demystify the relationship between the two by showing you how they work hand in hand to make a solid yet fluid drawing.

This lesson belongs to the course Constructive Figure Drawing I. During this 7-week course, renowned artist Steve Huston will teach you a powerful and direct method to drawing the human figure. Steve will take you through several concepts to help simplify and demystify the construction of the figure. You will develop a strong understanding of body movement and its structure. You will watch Steve analyze drawings from the Old Masters to learn how they constructed the figures using simple forms and shapes. After this course, you will be able to break down any challenging figurative pose and apply the knowledge you gain here to personal artwork.
