    Day 19

Quick study of the back (1 minute drawing).  I don’t draw the back often and will review anatomy and gesture, to improve upon this and dig into a slightly longer drawing.

Thanks for the encouragement!!! Yes, I have been sidetracked into the Pen and Ink course which has been helpful in improving the use of hatching to better articulate form, something I would like to bring to gesture sketching. I am committed to making 100 posts, even though it will be in many more than 100 days.

I’m taking that course too. It’s been very helpful.
Hope to see more of your drawings here though. Really beautiful loose, gestural, line work!

Thanks for the encouragement!!  I am working on a drawing now, it can take several hours of figuring out the lines to execute a very fast drawing.  It was Mike Mattesi Draw Force approach that really helped me with line quality. He now has some videos on here as well as many free videos on youtube.com.

Just getting back into it, this is a very quick preliminary drawing to get a feel for the overall flow.  It needs a lot of work still.

    Hello,

Thank-you! I am working on 18X24 drawing newsprint, I usually get two drawings a page but sometimes only one.  I have been working on getting a loose line at a smaller size with pen (like Glen Vilippu) but find it difficult.

    take care
