    Hi all,

I’ve just finished the first part of the oil portrait course, this is a full colour painting I have just completed (ish) to think of as a starting point. I did get a bit frustrated/fed up with it. Could do with some tips on handling lace, translucent materials (Amongst other things). I’m going to treat myself to some new brushes, what do you guys use? Any other thoughts welcome,

    Many thanks,

    Lewis

Hi Lewis really good skin tones and oil technique the sitter ireally looking out .  Maybe there could be some warm tones in the background and via versa to give more harmony also into clothes re the lace its possibly just to well drawn to exact  all in all a fine portrait showing great oil skills .

Thanks for the kind words! I was trying to seperate the face from the background in a fairly graphic manner using warm/cool, but perhaps you are right and the face could use some cooler tones to unify itI will bare this in mind next time,

    Best,
