Oh Joshua,

first I’d like to thank you and, all you great people working hard at NMA, for this opportunity to have our work critiqued!

You’re amazing for doing this, and I thank you! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
I think it’s been three years now since I study with NMA, and it hugely changed me—it opened for me doors I only ever dreamed to walk through.

This is some stuff I’m working on, hidden in my studio, plotting and plodding, like a criminal, with a vague idea in the back of my head that I am doing lots of wrong things. Here, I show it now for the first time, in hope of getting some feedback, and thus gain some access to new forbidden fruits. 🤪😉
Except for two half figures, the orange hair one, and the forest one, they are all unfinished and not yet resolved. Which means I am aware of some of their flaws.

The two big figurative paintings —5/4feet, I’ve laid in almost two years ago, and have been working up my skill and knowledge, and courage, alas, to continue and finish them.
Except for these two, all other works are recent.

The Conte sketches I did today, one hour each head.. it shows where I’m at.

I think the work shows undeniably the major influence the great Steve Huston has on me, I am indebted to him for more than I can tell. His pathos and force speak to something deep within me. Thank you Steve, thank you!!!

again, thank you for even reading this, your goodness has for a few years now continued to inspire me! Thank you 🙏🏻 !

Wow, really? You know how to make a girl feel special 😉.
Thanks, I feel the same .

apparently only two of my photos were uploaded. I will see if I can put up the rest.

only one photo at a a time ? I’ll never be finished. 😩

Now I finally have them all up ! I’ll try to not look at them at all, it’s painful what poor photography can do!
I propose NMA offers a course : “How to take good photos of your art with your iPhone”, I surely need it.

#ARTBEASTMODE, lol , 🙃. I suppose it’s suitable, especially as this is only some of the stuff I’m working on. I really took Steve’s advice to heart to do many beginnings and not worry about how to finish. Very wise advice.

Powerful paintings! I really like them, so much passion and so bold! May I ask if the highlight on the breast in the orange hair one, and the orange red “shadow?” on the thigh in the forest one are intentional? They stand out, but maybe that’s part of your story.
