Classic Illustration Crash Course

Veteran illustrator and Second Master of Art Center, Gary Meyer represents a generation of professional illustrators whose perspective skills were the pinnacle of craft and have now become rare. In this course, Gary will teach you some of the most critical skills needed to create environments from imagination such as linear perspective drawing, working with pencils and acrylic paints, creating scenes from imagination as well as painting different environments, lighting, and surface conditions.

How is this course different from Linear Perspective Master Course?

Linear Perspective Master Course is a comprehensive, step-by-step, course that covers perspective in depth. This course is intended as a "crash course." It's condensed to the absolutely essentials and moves at a challenging pace.

Who is this course for?

This course is for any artist that needs to create scenes from imagination including figurative artists, illustrators, concept artists, comic & anime artists.

Is this a drawing or painting course?

This course integrates both drawing and painting. You don't need to use acrylics though. You can follow along with the assignments in then medium of your choice including digital.

Can I do this course digitally (Procrease, Photoshop, etc)?

Like all of the courses at New Masters Academy we encourage you to work in your medium of choice. There's no reason this course can't be done digitally.

How advanced is this course?

Perspective is a tough subject. Gary moves quickly, but if you pause, rewatch, take notes and follow along, you can master the material. Remember there's no rush!
