For the last 15 years I have been a professional dancer. It showed me the world and gave me drive to achieve whatever I set my mind to. Ever since I can remember I've always loved to draw. I used it as a means to understand my choreography. When I was about 24 I was living and pursuing my dance career in New York City, when I happened upon spring street studio in lower manhattan. They were hiring models to pose for their gesture drawing classes. I found an instant connection to the classes. For me I got as much out of the anatomy and drawing theory as a dancer, as any of the students did as fine artists. After that something started in me that I knew was never going to go away. I was still focused on my dancing so I let it come into my life slowly. About 4 years ago I started really educating myself through various books, and YouTube channels. That's when I found all of the free content NMA offered. Since then I've watched all of the free content that has been offered so many times I can't remember. I was never a great student in school, but Art and P.E. was my haven. I will always be a dancer, but now my aim is my illustration and painting work.
