You are truly helping me to proceed facing my mistakes, this is purely black and white gouache, i find it extremely easy and fast to work with which let’s me focus on the remaining challenges. Thank you again!
Thank you for the feedback Leonardo!. I really think I missed on that temperature balance, a bit of orange/red on the foreground would make it more pleasing, it’s not on my hands anymore but worth to take mental note.
Thank you very much for the input!!
Thank you!!!
Im also interested in joining, working the figure almost every day, and currently going trough Steve Houston figure drawing. Hope there os some space left hehe.
Hello Andrew, im not sure o could be a very “Stable” coleague, but Im always up for discussing and im currently working the portrait and figure drawing.
Hello David, im no master myself and i hope someone with more insight can offer you a better critic and judgment. But i will try my best from the few tools of understanding i have.
First of all if you are new to this subject and you want to paint portraits i would really suggest to focus a bit more on drawing, construction and anatomy of the face so you can then work your way to beatifull rendered portraits.
Regarding this painting in specific, if you really want to do something more, you can add details and some colours, have some fun and get used to the brushes and paints. Dont be afraid of doing something different from the original. Like the previous user as said, Vermeer is a complex topic with a lot of information to absorb and replicate.
I hope i helped.
Sorry for my English, and keep working, it is very good when you feel your progress!. Good job!.
Thanks you very much for the CC. Yes it was my first time working with a model, and i will try to improve on the topics you pointed out. Best regards!
