The breakdown of the direction forces amid the shapes in this segment is so outstanding that I must watch Instructor Bill explain it at least three more times. My intuition is driving me immeasurably. I feel that mastering how to use shapes, as well as perspective, tone, and lines, to guide the viewer’s eyes and create focus will make my sequential illustration masterly. Thanks, Instructor Bill.

The video provides clear and concise explanations of figure-ground relationships and different types of space given by Instructor Perkins. His examples and directions are easy to understand and follow. The comparative analysis among all the aspects of composition and the various ways that artists may apply them within a creative work really helps effectuates deeper comprehension and easier application of the principles. Instructor Perkin’s demonstrations and the insight that he shares with viewers are invaluable helpful. Besides, this segment gives a wonderful review of some of the important fundamentals of using space within a design. Sequential illustrators and painters, I strongly believe, will find the video extremely useful.
