Hello! Just recently decided to be part of NMA again! Figured it’d be nice to subscribe for a whole year, while it’s discounted. And to dedicate more time to improve myself as an artist. I did draw while I was not a member for the last two years, but very inconsistently and motivation was hard to come by. Here are couple of things I tried to do over the last two years.
All of those were done digitally. Eye was drawn while following along Proko’s eye tutorial. Last two done in Procreate. The rest in Clip Studio Paint.
@alec.justice00 Thank you for the kind words. Although for the past month I haven’t been drawing anything, nor did I use NMA for that matter, in fact I felt like giving it all up. But that would make more harm in the long run, so hopefully I’d get back to it soon enough. Going on a vacation very soon to Rome, Italy and hopefully some of the art and rchitecture I see might inspire me in a way…
I never was very passionate about neither art-making, and learning anything on my own seems more like a chore than an exciting venture. I’ve got handful of art books I’ve rarely opened, which makes me even more frustrated given the fact that I bought them but have not used once.
Neither do I have positive outlook on my art journey, I don’t really believe I’m able to become as good, if not even better than the successful artists of today. Seems very much impossible. Still a struggling beginner whose art isn’t worth doing perhaps.
This one was finished a month ago, after which I felt too frustrated for some reason.
Slightly altered the brightness & sharpness of the image, attempted to bring more attention to the character itself than the textured background behind.
Also started drawing another one yesterday, although only started to refine today.
Images seems to be compressed in the forum, although it’s expected as this forum is barely 2 months old. Hopefully we’d be able to see improvements to it. 🙂

I appreciate you find the thread of mine inspiring. Sometimes I’m struggling quite a bit with drawings of mine. I haven’t even figured out any ways whatsoever to make myself known as an artist, nor do I know if it’d be even possible to make art for a living..
What brush set you’ve got? I’ve been looking for some textured brushes that look like traditional media too. Found some, though haven’t explored them thoroughly yet.
Woah so awesome studies you’ve got here!
I’ve spent the whole evening and into the night trying to work some more on the Daredevil drawing. Altered the clothing and the placement of right arm and legs. Don’t know how do the proportions look like, hopefully I’ll get to render it soon enough. Though before I do that the structure has to be OK enough for that.

Thank you very much @KaranveerPlaha 🙂 Appreciate the compliment!
Haven’t been drawing all that much since the last skulls I drew. Didn’t actually enjoyed drawing skulls to begin with.
Although I decided that I’ll draw some characters, the kind I did for fun. I want to think of these long running drawings as projects. Got a couple going and reference are already sorted and organised in pureref.
For the time being drawing Daredevil, the one from Netflix show. His suit looks nice.
Not too sure, though it could be related to “high key”, “low key” I heard some artists describe values. Which apparently means that high key is basically lightest values(including midtones I think), while low key are shadow family.
I’m not really sure how to study properly. I’ve started some course, a book and couldn’t finish neither. Some art subjects are very thorough, vast. I have plenty of books but I don’t read them.
Couldn’t figure out how to study other artists at all. I can only attempt at copying the artwork, but it won’t work that well.

Oh hope you get better soon!
I’m aware it takes time, though inability to see own progress kind of demotivates me quite a bit from time to time. Lately I’ve not been able to draw anything other than quick scribbles which I wouldn’t even dare show anyone and some boring hand dexterity exercises.(Connect the dots, ellipses, hatching value scales done poorly) Aside from that, nothing much else. Attempted to start some kind of character drawing, but I gave up shortly after starting. I’m not confident in my artistic skills, in fact I feel they’re inferior compared to what I can only dream of creating.
