Russian Portrait draw along with Iliya, crits very much welcome

My attempt at following Iliya’s instruction to do a portrait in Russian academic way. Have always been a fan of his Russian style. I didn’t have sangue so used Conte a Paris instead. Still struggle a lot at the neck anatomy and marks making.

Nice work. Work on controlling your values more carefully. When things get this dark and messy the illusion can begin to break down. If you find yourself getting too dark everywhere you can always erase with a kneaded eraser and then draw back into the lightened mass.
