    In this Lesson, Master Artist Glenn Vilppu draws from the New Masters Academy model reference library using charcoal stump, polychromos pencil, sepia fountain pen, and waterbrush. He stresses the importance of quick sketching as a means of practice with 1, 2, 5, and 10-minute drawing sessions.

    • Sanding Block
    • Prismacolor Colored Pencil – Black
    • Namiki Falcon Fountain Pen
    • Mont Blanc Fountain Pen Ink
    • Pentel Water Brush
    • Winsor & Newton Watercolor – Sepia (in Altoids Tin Palette)
    • Faber-Castell Polychromos Pencil – Sanguine

    I did not understand how the stump pencil is used for strokes? While i am familiar with its abilities to only blend existing pencil lines?

    I am curious if that is a blending stump that is just saturated, or something that has a charcoal or graphite end on one side.

    It’s just saturated from previous drawings.
